We have loved reading and featuring your poems on The Poetry Vessel Podcast, but we've decided to put this side of the Vessel on pause after one more episode. We hope to reopen audience poetry submissions in the future.

Don’t worry, the rest of The Poetry Vessel Podcast will continue as normal, as we will continue to share conversations with a fantastic range of poets, video essays, and master your craft videos on a weekly basis.

For a chance to be potentially featured in our final audience poetry submission episode of 2026, please follow the instructions in the submission form below. If you’ve already submitted, your piece is currently under consideration.

Submit Your Poetry

We invite you to submit your poems to be featured on The Poetry Vessel Podcast!

Are you a poet looking for a new audience? For these special episodes, we’ll select 1 Featured Poem and 1-2 Poems from “The Mystery Box” (Mystery Box poems will be pulled at random during our episodes) to read aloud as a springboard for poetic discussion (see our FAQ section below for more details). We'll reference your poem to educate listeners on the principles of poetry and to deepen our poetic conversations.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Currently, we offer free submissions for all poetry. Donations to The Poetry Vessel are completely optional.

    While we aren't a paying market, we're dedicated to helping your work find a new audience through The Poetry Vessel.

  • If your poem is chosen to be featured, we will e-mail you in advance of the episode's air date. During the episode, your poem will be read aloud, accompanied by a creative visual overlay.

    Please see our Terms & Conditions regarding instructions if your poem receives publication after submission.

  • If your poem is selected for The Mystery Box, you’ll receive a secret message (okay, an email) letting you know that your words have been carefully sealed inside the box—where they’ll await their moment of reveal.

    But beware: poems are drawn at random, guided by chance, intuition, and a touch of magic. They may surface in any episode. So keep your eyes and ears open…

  • As The Poetry Vessel is a growing channel, we currently do not send rejection notices at this time. Please also note that due to the nature of our filming schedule, submission periods may be longer than a typical online magazine.

    FEATURED POETS: If your poem is chosen to be featured, we will e-mail you in advance of the episode's air date.

    MYSTERY BOX POETS: If your poem is chosen for the mystery box, we will let you know via e-mail. Keep in mind, mystery box poems are drawn at random. They may surface in any episode. So keep your eyes and ears open!

  • Yes! We welcome simultaneous submissions.

  • Yes! Your poem could also be featured on our blog, on our social media accounts, or discussed in other videos on The Poetry Vessel YouTube Channel.

  • Poems will be read aloud with the original text from your poem displayed on screen in a creative manner at The Poetry Vessel’s discretion.

    Please note that these visuals are made with creative interpretation. While we always strive to honor the poem’s original format, please note that some creative adjustments may be made to best present your work.

  • The Poetry Vessel poetry submissions are totally free at this time. However, if you’d like to toss a coin into the vessel while submitting, we welcome the love and support for our small business.

    While we appreciate all donations and contributions, they do not affect acceptance rates. Here’s some instructions if you would like to submit without an optional donation:

    TO SUBMIT WITHOUT A DONATION:

    • Please enter “0” (Zero) in the payment box and click “Submit.”

    • There is no need to select anything in the payment methods section.

    • If the payment area appears red before submitting, don’t worry. You will still be able to submit your poetry successfully.

    • After successful submission, you will receive an email to your inbox letting you know that your submission has gone through.
